Be Ready Performance Therapy: Physical Therapist & Owner
Nashville Triathlon Club: Board Member
Over the last 15 years he has competed in a variety of athletic disciplines. After participating in several triathlons he saw that there was an opportunity to bring a few of the factors that create a special sense of teamwork and tradition in other disciplines into the sport of triathlon.
When Ross thinks about the most fun days of his life, they often include three things:
- Accomplishment in some sort of challenge or competition (hiking that hard trail, finishing that race)
- Spending time with people he loves…or at least likes.
- Knowing that he built into something that matters (improving quality of life for others, adding to a long tradition, creating something worthwhile)
If participating in our races gives other people any sense that they had one of the better days of their lives including any of the above factors, that’s what motivates Ross to keep these events going!
Why "Chroma"?
Chroma means “color”.
When we looked to include tradition into our race, we saw how other sports such as professional cycling and CrossFit wove color-based marks of honor and awards into the competition. In the Tour de France you might see a yellow, green, white, or polka dot jersey that denotes what a rider has accomplished. In CrossFit, whoever has the lead going into an event wears the red shorts.
These notes of color add to the storylines and gravity of the event. They also provide different avenues or categories through which one can claim a victory. We hope it adds the same to the Team Racing Championship.
